I want to congratulate librarians, not famous for their physical strength or their powerful political connections or their great wealth, who, all over this country, have staunchly resisted anti-democratic bullies who have tried to remove certain books from their shelves, and have refused to reveal to thought police the names of persons who have checked out those titles.
So the America I loved still exists, if not in the White House or the Supreme Court or the Senate or the House of Representatives or the media. The America I love still exists at the front desks of our public libraries.

This was for Jordan Mechner’s new take on Karateka. We put our heads together and came up with a new look for the old classic and had a ton of fun doing it!

happy new year folks!
This is what I am working on now, Uncanny Inhumans #0.
First image: Pencils and inks on the final cover here are mine. I used an acrylic paint marker for the solid blacks and pulled 6b pencil out of the shadow , added a thin neutral grey watercolor wash and the figure was done. The rocks were various tints of the same neutral grey watercolour. All done on 140lb Fabriano hot pressed watercolour paper.
Second image: the rough I did for the cover, a combination of pencil on paper and photoshop.
